October is finally here, which means one of the best party holidays is in a couple weeks. That’s right, I’m talking about Halloween! Halloween is all about endless amounts of candy, haunted houses, live parties and most importantly, costumes.
You can’t say Halloween or Halloween party without costume. If you haven’t started shopping for costumes yet, you should probably get to it because Halloween will be here before we know it. There are a ton of places beyond Party City that you can cop a fly Halloween costumes from, along with cool accessories.
Urban Outfitters and American Apparel sell great costumes every year. Even retail clothing giant PacSun has joined in on the Halloween spirit this year. So not only can you do some fall shopping there, you can also get yourself a costume that will literally make you the life of the party or the life trick or treating or the life of whatever it is that you do on October 31st.
Noticing a pattern here with the names of stores? It’s because all of the stores are the ones where I told you guys that you could get fall threads from. So why not kill two birds with one stone and get your fall and Halloween shopping out of the way?
Every Halloween you see the same typical costumes, such as some dude in a Michael Myers mask, some girl who dresses as a “sexy” pirate, which is cool and all. But there are some cool, stand-out costumes besides the usual stuff we see every year.
PacSun has a look-book on their website just in time for the holiday. It features costumes and accessories for women inspired by the classic cartoon The Flintstones and the cult-classic film “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” with a horror spin.
Guys, there are endless cool Halloween costume ideas out there besides walking around with a hockey mask. Dress up as Marty McFly from Back To The Future. There’s actually a site called www.halloweecostumes.com that sells replicas of the Nike Mags that Marty McFly wore in the film. Halloween is all about getting creative and having fun so do just that!
Speaking of creative, did I mention that there is a “Netflix and Chill” costume this year? Yup, you heard right. There are people walking around with t-shirts that have the Netflix logo and bags of ice to represent chill. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m definitely not walking around with a bag of ice all day and night. But hey, it might just work for you.
Besides clothing retail stores selling things you may want or need, there are Halloween popup shops such as Halloween City and Spirit Halloween that sell over a thousand costumes and accessories. Places such as Halloween City and Spirit Halloween let you mix and match and get as creative as you want with costumes; the possibilities are endless! But be warned, they are a bit on the pricey side.
For those of you who are budget conscious because we are college students who have to save, places like Marc’s, Walmart and Target are great places to find costumes, accessories, makeup and other things you need to be fly on the 31st of October at grizzly low prices. As a matter of fact, I saw that Target has buy one get one free on costumes for adults and children. So don’t ever say that I didn’t help you guys out on finding deals.
By the way, you know that there is an annual Halloween party held on campus with a prize for the person with the best costume? Last year a Chipotle gift card was given out for the best costume. Who knows, maybe you’ll be the winner this year and besides, there is no better way to spend Halloween than eating Chipotle right?!!
Well, I think you know all that you need to know in order for you to have the fliest costume at the party, in line for Chipotle or wherever you’ll be this year. So get going because you only have two more weeks. Now excuse me while I jet to go look for my Halloween costume.
